Performing Group Auditions

Dancers will be invited to audition for performing teams. An ivitation means that Cindy thinks you have the skills to be on the team. Teams will perform around our community and go to dance competitions when they are ready. It is so much fun to be on a Cindy's Dance Factory dance team and we are excited to see you there!

Cindy offers the following performing group teams:

• Jr. Prep team
• Flair performing team
• Fame performing team
• Finesse performing team
• Hip Hop performing team

Jr. Prep Team:
(Getting ready for a performing group) This team

• Requirements:
  • One-hour team class on Mondays
  • One-hour ballet class on Mondays
• Auditions:
  • No audition is necessary, but please practice the following before classes start:
    • High kicks
    • Splits (left, right, and middle)
    • Leaps (stag, calypso, grand jete, side, switch, back, and more)
    • Turns (double, triple, axel, pirouettes, foete, ala seconde, and more)
    • Show us your love of dance!!! SMILE!!
  • (Don't worry if you don't know all of these leaps or turns!! We will be learning these throughout the dance year!!!)

Flair, Fame, and Finesse Teams:

• Requirements:
  • 90-minute Ballet class
  • 75-minute Performing Group class
  • 45-minute Leaps and Turns/ Conditioning class
• Auditions - you will be asked to:
  • Quickly learn and perform 1 or 2 different dance combinations
  • Choreograph 1 minute of a song (any style) to perform for us (please bring your music)
  • High kicks
  • Splits (left, right, and middle)
  • Leaps (stag, calypso, grand jete, side, switch, back, and more)
  • Turns (double, triple, axel, foete, ala seconde, and more)
  • Show us your love of dance!!!!  SMILE!!
• Each dancer will audition individually in front of our judges. Critiques of your audition will be written and given to the dancers at a later time. This will let you know what you are great at and also things to work on to make you an even better dancer!!!

Auditions will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, starting at 11:00 am. (Unknown finish time) Please call Cindy and let her know you will be there!!!!!!!         719-394-3815

(If you have friends who have danced a lot and might want to audition, please have them come too!)   We are going to have an outstanding dance year!!!   We hope to see you at the audition!!!!!!!!!!!
(If you are unable to attend the audition, there will be a makeup audition Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 11:00am.)

Hip Hop Team:

• Requirements:
  • 1-hour Hip Hop team class on Saturdays
  • No more than 3 absences per semester to ensure enough time learn, practice, and perfect the choreography
• Audition - you will be asked to:
  • Quickly learn and perform a dance combination
  • Choreograph 1 minute of a song (any style) to perform for us (please bring your music)
  • James Brown split
  • Chinese Pop Ups
  • Dolphin Dives, Nike freezes, and any other tricks you are able to do
  • Show us your love of dance!!! SMILE!!
• Each dancer will audition individually in front of our judges. Critiques of your audition will be written and given to the dancers at a later time. This will let you know what you are great at and also things to work on to make you an even better dancer!!!

Cindy's Dance Factory has been selected for the 2023 Best of Colorado Springs Award in the Dance School category by the Colorado Springs Award Program, an annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses throughout the Colorado Springs area.
